30 routes
Kyoto in November
Maple trees on fire, temples half-empty in the morning, and the kind of quiet you forget exists. November is when Kyoto stops performing and just breathes.

Lisbon in Spring
Jacaranda trees in bloom, pasteis de nata still warm at 8am, and fado drifting out of someone's open window. Lisbon in April is one of those places you don't want to leave.

Patagonia Road Trip
Wind that nearly knocks you over, glaciers that crack like thunder, and skies bigger than feels reasonable. Patagonia doesn't really care if you're impressed, it just is.

Tbilisi Weekend
Old wooden balconies leaning into the street, sulfur baths in the basement of a 17th century building, and supras where strangers pour you wine until you're family. Tbilisi is wierd in the best way.

Marrakech in October
Spices, snake charmers, the call to prayer at dusk over the rooftops. October is when the brutal summer heat finally lets go, and the medina feels alive again.

Iceland in Winter
Northern lights flickering green over a black sand beach, geothermal pools steaming in minus 5, and roads where you go an hour without seeing another car. Iceland in winter is brutal and beautiful.
Bali Off-Season
Empty rice terraces, half-price villas, and the occasional warm rainstorm that lasts twenty minutes. March in Bali is the secret most travel sites don't tell you about.
Porto Wine District
Terraced vineyards dropping into the Douro river, port wine cellars older than most countries, and grilled octopus by the water. Porto is what Lisbon used to be before everyone found out.

Oaxaca Food Route
Seven kinds of mole, mezcal tasted from the barrel, and tlayudas the size of a hubcap. Oaxaca is where Mexican food stops being a cuisine and becomes a religion.
Faroe Islands
18 islands in the middle of the North Atlantic, grass-roof houses, and cliffs that go straight into the ocean. The Faroes feel like the edge of the known world.

Ljubljana Hidden Gem
A capital city you can cross on foot in 20 minutes, dragons on the bridges, and Lake Bled an hour away. Ljubljana is small, green, and quietly perfect.

Kotor Bay Montenegro
A fjord in the Mediterranean, medieval walled towns at the water's edge, and roads carved into cliff faces. September is when the cruise ships thin out and the bay feels yours.
Chiang Mai in December
Cool evenings, lantern festivals lighting the sky, and the kind of street food that makes you reconsider why you ever cooked at home. December is Chiang Mai at its best.
Azores Islands
Crater lakes in extinct volcanoes, whale watching in the Atlantic, and cheese aged in lava tubes. The Azores are what Hawaii would be if it was secretly in Portugal.
Tbilisi to Kazbegi
Drive up the Georgian Military Highway, end up at a thousand-year-old church on a mountain with the Caucasus filling the sky behind it. Three hours of driving, a lifetime of photos.

Scottish Highlands
Single-track roads, lochs that look like mirrors at 5am, and pubs where the fire is always on. May is when the midges haven't woken up yet and the days stretch forever.
Dolomites in Autumn
Pink granite peaks at sunset, larch trees going gold, and rifugios serving polenta with venison ragu. The Dolomites in October are quiet, crisp, and at their colour peak.

Cappadocia Balloon Route
Hot air balloons drifting over fairy chimneys at dawn, cave hotels carved into volcanic rock, and underground cities you didn't know existed. Cappadocia really does look like another planet.
Zanzibar Beach Guide
Turquoise water that looks photoshopped, Stone Town alleys smelling of cloves, and seafood grilled right off the boat. Zanzibar is what you imagine when you imagine the Indian Ocean.

Medellin Colombia
City of eternal spring, cable cars running up to mountain neighborhoods, and a culture that's reinvented itself in 25 years. Medellin will surprise you in the best way.

Hokkaido Winter
The best powder snow on Earth (probably), onsen baths in the snow, and crab so fresh it's almost cruel. Hokkaido in February is a winter dream wrapped in steam.

Valletta Malta
A walled capital built by knights, golden limestone in the late afternoon, and pastizzi for breakfast (it's a flaky cheese pastry, you'll get it). Valletta is small, dramatic, and easy to love.
Sintra Day Trip
Fairytale castles in misty hills 40 minutes from Lisbon. Sintra is a day trip that turns into a full day, every time, no matter how early you start.
Plovdiv Bulgaria
One of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in Europe, a Roman amphitheatre still in use, and a creative quarter full of murals and cheap wine bars. Plovdiv is the Balkans before everyone caught on.

Madeira Hiking
Levada water-channel hikes through laurel forest, peaks above the clouds, and toboggans down a hill driven by men in straw boaters. Madeira is the wild Atlantic island Europe forgot.

Tallinn Old Town
A medieval old town that feels like a film set, Christmas markets glowing in the snow, and one of the most digital countries on Earth hidden behind it. Tallinn is small and weirdly impressive.

Luang Prabang Laos
Saffron monks at sunrise, French colonial villas, and waterfalls turquoise enough to look fake. Luang Prabang moves at half speed and you'll be grateful for it.

Cartagena Colombia
Painted colonial walls in the old city, salsa drifting out of every other bar, and ceviche eaten on the harbor. Cartagena is hot, loud, beautiful, and impossible to forget.

Bruges Belgium
Canals, swans, chocolate shops every twenty meters, and beers that are essentially desserts. Bruges is a fairy tale that's also a beer destination, and somehow that works.

Georgian Wine Route
8000 years of winemaking, qvevri clay vessels buried in the ground, and family supras that last six hours. Georgia is the world's oldest wine country, and Kakheti is its heart.
